Soichi Noguchi has flown aboard three generations of spacecraft—the Space Shuttle, Soyuz, and Crew Dragon—embodying the history of human spaceflight. His work spans spacecraft operations, scientific experiments, extravehicular activity, and education and public outreach. He is a recipient of the NASA Space Flight Medal, the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation, and the FAI V. M. Komarov Diploma, among other honors. He is an Honorary Citizen of the city of Chigasaki. He currently serves as Director of the IHI Academy; CTO and Board Member of the Institute for International Socio-Economic Studies (IISE); Project Professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST), The University of Tokyo; and Special Advisor to the President, Ritsumeikan University.
